Potential State Shutdown

I peeked around UP but couldn't find a discussion devoted to the issues going on in Lansing right now. Any thoughts to the problem at hand and potential shutdown?

How about if the government shuts down, the 6% sales tax on good should also be suspended. This would help motivate those in Lansing to speed up the process.

I wonder how long the politicians have got after Monday to do something before more parts of the state government are shut down? Secondly, how far can a shut down go? Could it extend to a point where only the governor, the legislature, and the state supreme court are still operating?
