Wilmington ranks #2 in job creation nationally

Wilmington was ranked 2ND, nationally, behind Ocala, FL for job creation in the latest Milken Institute study. Port related services and communications services have put the city in the #2 spot for job creation and retention. The expansion of the port and the deepening of the channel has lead to a lot of the job growth in the business and construction sectors. Investments in infrastructure have lead to improvements cargo capacity as well as creating opportunities for trade linkage and port related business.

G E adding 900 high paying jobs in the next couple of years should help keep the trend going.
