Chatham Village, located south of the city (not sure if it's in city limits or not) has been selected as one of America's ten greatest neighborhoods by the American Planning Association. I just stumbled upon this list by chance, and what a nice surprise.

Chatham Village was chosen for it's "Two-hundred-year-old trees, Georgian revival architecture, and a sense of community."

I visited the neighborhood once and I have to say, it really is lovely. So many trees, and the houses all face toward gardens instead of roads. Beautiful place.

That is great news. I've never been there, so this will be good reason to check it out.

I like that it was partially chosen for its "sense of neighborhood." I honestly think many pgh neighborhoods could easily have been chosen.
