Young Tennessee man speaks out on proposed I-3 (Corridor K)

Recommended Posts

I commend this young man for speaking out against this proposed new interstate and totally agree with his views. Maybe one day he will run for a political office, Senator or Congressman......wouldn't that be refreshing!!!!!

Our population continues to grow, and our highways continue to get more and more crowded. Good highways have been proven to be a necessary requirement for a healthy economy. Show me an area with poor roads, and I'll show you a downtrodden area. One day there will probably be twice as many people in America as there are now, and our roads would become at least twice as crowded as they are now if no new roads are built. What would we have then? Gridlock, job losses, and everthing will cost more because of higher transportation costs, that's what. Or, maybe some people may think it's would be OK to build all the needed new roads elsewhere, but not here....no new roads ever built in the Appalachians, for example. That would be a recipe for economic disaster for that area. How short sighted can one be.

Folks, whether you want these new roads or not, they WILL be built eventually, or everyone will suffer.

There are these new inventions called trains. They run on tracks and with new technology, they can run on air using magnetic levitation. We can avoid cutting through more wilderness and building and initiating another cesspool of sprawl, by expanding existing highway infrastructure and using more trains.
