Damn I meant Potpouri!

There were several news items today that I thought I would throw into one thread.

1. The state gained 600 jobs in September, pushing non-farm employment to 1,702,800, according to a monthly report from the state Department of Labor.

2. Cabellas and Crate & Barel Opened today

3. The civic Center has redecorated.

4. 5 of the 10 fastest growing tech companies in CT are based in Greater Hartford.

Number 4 is the best news. I would like to see a growth sector in the capitol area for Technology based companies.

I am sure most of them are very small, but it is based of a company that has been around since 2002, and had revenues of more than 50k that year, and in 2006 had revenues of more than 5 million. so in order to make the list they need to be doing at least $5M in revenue now. There is no reference to profits, so this is not at all about stability, but rather revenue growth.

I would like to know about the growth of the largest companies on this list, and possibly about the companies that have begun to stabalize as they have "grown up"

Here is more information on those fast growing tech companies.

well 3 of them at least.

the companies are definately pretty small, but these 3 seem fairly viable and have nice potential for the state,

40+, 75, and 60 employees with the 2nd of them looking to add 100 this year or so.

Yesterday I read that Tuesdays has bought Stagpole Moore and Tryon.

They will close their current location and open as a department inside of the 242 Trumbull location. Also they signed a 5 year lease extention with Northland at the same time. The new owner hopes to bring a womans shoe store to Tuesdays current location.

In other news a 500k Sq retail complex will be built or is opening... was not really reading in detail :) out in far eastern CT. Killingly commons its called.

Travelers got their Giant Umbrella statur back from Citigroup in NY, and thats about it right now.
