Will the Courant show a spine and endorse AGAINST Perez?

Perez has been a disaster.

8,000 jobs have left the city on his watch.

Personal and political scandals have shown him to be corrupt.

His knee jerk support of unions has cost the city millions of dollars in lost conventions.

The city is driving small business either out of business or across the city lines because of incompetent tax policy.

His feud with the state has left Hartford on an island with few friends.

But he is a Democrat. So the Courant will probably look past all these serious flaws and endorse him.

Even if they did muster the strength to endorse an opponent, they would probably wait for the day before the election, when they know it would have minimal effect.

That is the sad state of affairs in Hartford. A incompetent, corrupt, clueless mayor gets another term because he has a smalll "d'" next to his name.

The Courant could put this election in play. I highly doubt the have the courage to do it.

They knew Bush would NEVER carry Connecticut. So endorsing him was a safe way to pretend they were even handed. In a weird way it helped their credibility. You have to read between the lines with some of this stuff.

With Eddies' track record they should be all over him.

Wait and see. Goran has been pretty sympathetic to the cause if you know what mean. Hopefully the editorial board will follow suit and we see some more articles about the bumblings of King Eddie.

Good article about Perez's own allies jockeying to replace him if he get's indicted. We need to just hope (and vote if you're in Hartford) that Mathews can pull it off on election day or we might get stuck with rJo! Nobody in the world wants that to happen.
