The Churches of Grand Rapids

That's a beautiful Church. The tower looks very much like one of the towers at St. Andrews. Where is this church? I'd like to do a photoshoot of it when the weather warms up.

I actually visited this church at Christmas through Lowell. It's pretty cool.

Does anyone have any interior shots of Fountain Street Church? I had a tour of it today but unfortunately I did not have a camera with me. It's gorgeous!

Isn't it, though?

Not many building pics on our website, but I did find one showing most of the sanctuary.

Here are some on Google Images.

Another flickr photo that's pretty awesome. Very dark and foreboding. Anyone know what church this is? I would post it directly, but he doesn't have the Creative Commons marked on it, and I'm not going to step on anyone's toes with images and such.

This probably isn't the best place to post this, but has anyone noticed all the scaffolding surrounding Saint. Mary's Church right at 131/196? Sounds like they are doing an extensive restoration to their church. It's such a beautiful church I'm glad they're doing this! :)

I am always find it interesting what doesn't get people's attention on this forum. I looked to see if this was mentioned but i don't think it was.

First United Methodist is losing their tower because it was too expensive to maintain:

been going on for a while now but guess no one seemed to mention it.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think there's shortage of church steeples downtown. If they couldn't afford it...

I've been following the deconstruction of the tower for weeks. It was one of my favorite buildings. But, I do understand that the church could not afford to keep it and it was unused, also a potential danger from erosion due to it not being weatherproof.

So this is more of an issue of public saftey and not just wanton descruction of a historic building. Sad still. I'll miss the days when the sun would rise directly behind the building, through the windows.
