East Georgia College - Statesboro

Swainsboro-based East Georgia College's Statesboro campus has outgrown the home campus. Statesboro's campus now boasts 1,200 students taking classes on the Georgia Southern campus. EGCS is moving into its new 13,000 sf administrative headquarters in the Southwind Plaza in December. They will have more office space, a computer lab, science classroom, conference room and academic resource center. Plans have been discussed for many years about building a Statesboro campus so that EGCS will not have to use GSU's facilities. At this time, however, both schools are enjoying their collaborative relationship.

Adding Georgia Southern's current enrollment of 16,842 with OTC's 2,200 students and Statesboro's academic infrastructure serves over 20,000 college students community-wide. As Georgia Southern's academic standard continues to increase, EGCS will also continue to grow as Gainesville College grows with UGA.

Bids have gone out for a new EGC-Statesboro facility. Here is a sketch! I couldnt find the exact square footage, but its in the 20-50k range. Im not sure where its going to be located either. One would think that if they are investing in this type of permanent facility, they will place it on a large 100 acre plot or so - especially since the Statesboro campus enrolls at least half of their students (I think).

Any updates on where EGCS will be?
