Matthews gets my vote without question. He is a graduate of Wesleyan and has a law degree from Cornell. He has served in the armed forces and has worked in upper management positions in the legal departments of United Technologies and Quaker Oats. He has also served on City Council and as Deputy Mayor in Hartford.

This guy is so much more qualified than Perez to run this city....

I'm definitely going with Mathews as well. He will do a much better job than Perez. I think he can really open the lines of communication with the Governor and get the ball rolling on more development.

While Mathews doesn't cause me to leap for joy, I would certainly support him over Perez if I lived in Hartford. I think Mathews' corporate experience is desperately needed in City Hall. I also think Mathews has a much greater chance to unify the city than Perez.
