Kinda a stretch for the developer to call it NoDa lol. It's on Sugar Creek behind the Sugaw Creek Church. This area needs a new moniker with the renovation of the Asian Mall to kinda set it apart.

Happy CampNorthend has another office tenant the relocating Google Fiber offices and this is a good fit for them.

Glad Camp Northend is seeing some Google money and validation. But I don’t understand, at all, what Google uses that office for. I figured they would have rolled up that business/community outreach effort when they left uptown.

Does anyone know what's going on here on Statesville between Callahan and Oaklawn?  I attended a zoning meeting a few years ago about a mixed used apartment and retail project that was supposed to go here but i'm not sure if it got approved.

 

Also Camp Northend is putting up fencing near the corner of Sylvania Ave and Statesville like they're about to break ground on another phase.

I have an Axios article on the latest Camp North End news coming out in a week or so. I'm almost done with it. The circled are is this Drakeford Company project with townhouses (including affordable) and retail

Here's a photo update on Camp North End's construction. Looks like the Keswick shops are complete on the exterior and just need interior completion. I love the variety of different finishes and materials used in the area.

Noda Company Canteen is established over in the Boileryard and looks great.

I haven't previously heard of Petfolk, so this is a cool story in my book.  It is Charlotte start-up that was working out of the Hygge in Camp North End, and now they are moving into a permanent space at Camp North End that will be their headquarters.

The founders launched Petfolk in 2020 to: "transform the veterinary medicine industry by providing modern, accessible and professional pet care facilities through proprietary technology and a consumer-based data platform."

Anyone got information on what could be planned for the plot of land where Double Oaks Elementary is? 

They are demolishing the building currently and all I can find is old articles that mention affordable housing.

Excited to see these start. One will be connected to the Southside of the parking deck and the other will be right across Razades way where they cut a large section out of the existing building. Should get some excellent views of the skyline from them.

this rezoning was approved last night and this project is 1 block north basically of northside of Camp North End.  From the Biz Journal:

Camp Northend has attracted another office tenant from Uptown this time an engineering firm.  (in addition to the Google office and Kingsmen Software)

""Bolton & Menk, a Minnesota-based civil engineering firm, is establishing Charlotte as its permanent Southeast headquarters with a move into Camp North End's Gama Goat building.

The decision comes on the heels of the 2021 merger between Bolton & Menk and Charlotte-based professional services firm ColeJenest and Stone. The newly combined firm signed an 11-year lease for 24,600 square feet of office space at 1701 N. Graham St., the northern portion of the 140,000-square-foot adaptive-reuse building.

Office space is changing and new types of space are attracting more and more tenants.  That is why I think we need to rethink office space uptown in some of the older towers and start converting to other uses.
