Alamance County Highway Projects

Here on some updates on Alamance County's rare TIP projects. Notably the Cook Road extension in Elon has been moved up to begin construction in 2010. This would complete the western half of Alamance County's urban loop. The first half which is University Drive has been completed since 2004. To the relief of many Burlington citizens Mebane Street widening is finally just around the corner. The project thats been on the books for 20+ years to widen this 2 mile stretch in the form of 4 lanes with sidewalks. Mebane's long awaited 4 mile 119 bypass has been delayed another 2 years to begin in 2012. Detailed information can be found in this article courtesy of the Burlington Times News.
