GTCC already has a campus in Jamestown, a 67 acre campus in east Greensboro and an aviation school at PTI. Now GTCC plans to build a 97 acre campus near PTI which will expand the community college's transportation and aviation courses. With companies such as Honda Aircraft and FedEx moving into the area by 2009, GTCC officials said they will expand their courses to help train future employees in those fields. Having a college like that to help train workers will help attract companies to the area as well.

Sorry to veer off topic for a moment, but do you know anything around the Jamestown campus becoming independent and getting certified/accredited for 4 year university status? My wife teaches at JMS and you hear rumors about this fairly often. And would it split from it's other campuses or take them with it? Or is it moot since they are all under the NC university system umbrella anyway?
