A very interesting website with some interesting stats.

Since January 1, 2007 we have purchased 117,316,407 CFL Lightbulbs which is equivalent to:

Dollars saved: $3,463,813,843

Cars off the road: 832,261

Pounds of coal saved: 12,212,966,893

Pounds of Co2 prevented: 52,271,498,303

In Michigan alone we purchased 3,361,729 CFL Light bulbs which is equivalent to:

Dollars saved: $82,571,460

Cars off the road: 23,849

Pounds of coal saved: 349,965,414

Pounds of Co2 prevented: 1,497,851,973

Michigan ranks #38 with #1 being Washington....surprise surprise.

In Grand Rapids we purchased 284,985 CFL Light bulbs which is equivalent to:

Dollars saved: $6,997,648

Cars off the road: 2,021

Pounds of coal saved: 29,658,368

Pounds of Co2 prevented: 126,937,816

Grand Rapids ranks #263 for most purchased CFL light bulbs. Not too shabby.
