Hmm, I thought I replied to this one already....I guess not....

Anyway, awesome pics! Looking at the second photo reminds me of the plans to renovate the Pick-Fort Shelby hotel. Are they EVER going to renovate that building? It seems to get totally ignored because it's not on Woodward Avenue and because it just isn't as fancy as the Book-Cadillac.

Great pics. My first visit to the motor city was back in May, its quite an interesting place! Lots of hope for downtown - its got first rate architecture.

Detroit needs lots of hope with the midset of the city leaders!

I can see The Marriott Renaissance Center in muchswatch's initial post in this thread of his 3rd and 4th pic posts - completed 1977, 73 floors above ground, height 726ft/221.4m. Still the tallest in Detroit at this stage B) - A John Portman & Associates' 70s masterpiece to say the least :) !!
