That last pic would be a good angle to show the city shot during game time especially Hilton is there. You can almost fool people that Orlando is a real city.

Hmm...after my $20 trip downtown using the toll roads, paying $15 to park, then getting mugged in Parramore, how can one NOT have a great time at the Scamway Arena???

Next time I recommend that you take the commuter rail downtown, get off at Church Street, and walk a few well lit blocks to the Amway Center.

The Events Center website was updated with a new video -- it shows the presence of a jumbotron on the East wall facing I-4 and the Church Street interaction looks great. The South and West walls are dismal, at best.

I belive it is going to be some sort of mesh or hanging crystals (in front of a large window) that from far away will broadcast a full screen/jumbotron effect.

American Airlines Arena in Miami recently added this feature to the glass wall of its entrance:

When it's off, it looks perfectly clear from afar and when it's on, it produces an image as clear as if it were a regular jumbo-tron.

The Division Avenue streetscape improvements already made from Church Street up to the new Federal Courthouse really help that area appear safer and pedestrian (from what I can tell on Google Earth at least). Also, the Parramore Heritage Park is a really nice start filling in the area between the Citrus Bowl and Arena. Unfortunately it is littered with homeless and likely will continue to be until they move the shelter out of that neighborhood.

It would really be nice if they relocated the Homeless Shelter out of there. If they don't move it out, people will be seriously turned off to the area.

What do you all think about property development that will possibly take place north of the 408 in Parramore....does anybody have any news on that?

My mom spoke of a report she saw on the news which said the underpass would be turned into something similar to the Freemont Street Experience in downtown vegas.

I think this looks great and I like it. However, this property is actually zoned commercial and I kinda expected it would get developed (bars) after the arena was open.

There is a lot of space there to develop a nice plaza connecting both sides and to put in a pub or two (sort of like the restaurant on Park Ave underneath the Grand Central bridge.

Not exactly the newest info (almost two months old), but it gives detailed specs on the scoreboard for the arena. Kinda interesting.
