Amway Center

I really like this new design change for several reasons, the first of them being the more logical 45 degree angle the tower appears to be coming off the building at & the way it ties into it. The old design appeared to have the tower extending off the building at a weird looking angle that didn't really look like it was supposed to be there.

I also like the the more sleek & slender design of the center portion that supports the newly added spire, which is another improvement.

Also, on the old renderings, the deck out in front was supported by a grid of narrow columns that just looked kind of cheesey. Made it look like a warehouse mezzanine or something you'd see attatched to an old 60's department store.

Overall, a great improvement I think.

in the first rendering, it looks like there's two levels of platform in the tower portion. is it the same way in the new rendering? I can't tell from the renderings.

The article stated that there would be the outdoor deck and bar as shown in the pic and also a "sky bar" so I assume there's a second level that's out of view in the new rendering with another bar/deck higher up.

I almost forgot what one of those look like in our skyline, good to see.

LOL!

maybe GAI will have one... I drove by there last night and saw the fenced in lot and demo as reported a few days ago. I think that project is more or less supposed to be a carbon copy of 801 N. Orange.
