North Lexington: Gentrified at last! Whee!

Tired of dreadlocks, beads, and hippies? Tired of skinny girls in Birkenstocks and flowing skirts? At last, your prayers have been answered. Luxury condos, courtesy of a Miami developer who has spoken out in favor of chains downtown, will be built in a cluster of historic buildings to be renovated north of Tops for Shoes.

Hooray! Asheville was far too unique, anyway. It made my bowels quiver.

We can only hope that he is sincere in his statement about seeking local tenants. Lex Ave is wonderfully funky and the vibe should be nurtured and protected.
