Has anyone else seen the News Channel 5 investigative report on the owners and workers at Tootsie's? It's about how they have felony convictions. Kind of crazy, not sure what to think.

Yes they are sharing space with Apollo Burgers. Need to call ahead in that everything is cooked to order 30+ minutes.

Highly recommended - provided they're still as good as they were when they were in their hole in the wall up on Buchanan... great hot chicken, good sides, too.. can't wait to try out their new place! I'm feeling a hot chicken feast this weekend

The Seanachie building has been purchased.. but it does not sound to me like a CVS pharmacy is likely to go there anymore, as the new buyers are partners in Rippy's, Broadway Brewhouse, and Tootsie's.

Probably another honky tonk?

Any word on what the new owners plan on doing with this? I noticed interior demolition was taking place a week or two ago so I guess the project is underway.

As far as i know this is not under construction yet. However the Southern Steakhouse and Oyster Bar space is currently being renovated.

As to the Seanachie building, I know there are two different venues going in there.

Here is an article from the NBJ

Sorry if there is already a thread for this.

Confirmation that Publix is considering a 28,000 sq. ft. store on the roundabout....

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/news/2011/11/17/publix-considers-opening-store-in.html

"Publix Super Markets Inc. is considering bringing an urban-style grocery store to Music Row, sources say.

The Florida-based grocer is in talks withBristol Development Group and PGM Properties to have a 28,000-square-foot store anchor a planned 240-unit apartment high-rise at 1515 Demonbreun St., according to multiple sources familiar with the proposal. Currently, the site is a parking lot for a retail strip of shops, bars and restaurants, including Tin Roof, across the street.

The deal remains preliminary, according to sources. Publix has made no commitment to the proposal but is expected within the next week to either walk away from the project or move forward with it. If the supermarket chain chooses the latter, it could be months before a lease is signed.

Publix and Bristol declined to comment on the project.

“Our policy is not to discuss potential projects until they are far enough along that they are reasonably certain,” said Charles Carlisle, CEO of Bristol.

The influx of people living and working in and around downtown over the last decade has given rise to the need for a supermarket in Nashville’s urban core. The area is home to boutique grocers like the less than 5,000-square-foot H.G. Hill Urban Market in the Viridian condo tower downtown and The Turnip Truck, a 9,200-square-foot store in the Gulch."

Here's the PDF on the Savannah Candy Kitchen building..

This is awesome news! They are building a new building on that surface lot and even putting details in the facade to make it fit in with the historic buildings around it... whoever is behind this should be highly celebrated... we need a ton more of this type of development.

When Opryland theme park closed after the 1997 season, Gaylord donated a portable ice rink (that had been used when the park was open for the Christmas season) to the city. I know it was set up at Riverfront Park during the holidays for one or two years. I have no earthly idea whatever happened to the rink after those few uses.
