I definitely don't think this was worthy of an announcement as there are very few, if any, jobs gained for NC although Raleigh is now the official North American HQ where Greensboro was not.

Cutting taxes, gutting environmental regs, reducing public school and university funding and enshrining religious beliefs in the State constitution sure seems to have improved the business environment...the huge announcements just keep rolling in

Looks like the Triangle is loosing its last Fortune 500 company. A Canadian firm is acquiring The Pantry, based in Cary.

Looks like Mercedes is trolling for tax giveaways from Georgia and North Carolina. This article suggests they're looking at several NC cities...I would imagine Charlotte and Raleigh? This might explain why Germany popped up on the "direct flight from RDU" list earlier this year.

Interesting that Raleigh is only 1 of 3 US cities in the top 50 for economic growth. It's beating even Vancouver which was on a roll.

According to the Business Journal Red Hat will operate kinda separately and still be based in Raleigh.
