Why do you say that?  I think Chi fully intends to move ahead...the sign is still there, etc.

Construction on Aloft is starting in March/April.  Should start seeing major work towards mid-Spring.  Chi Family was not able to close on MM Cohn Building due to continued stupidity of Scott Reed.  Main Street Lofts organization is imploding.  Banks and lien holders are likely to take possession of Reed's properties along 500 block of Main in the coming months.

Very good news on Aloft...thanks for clarifying.

Is the Main Street Lofts the same as K-Lofts (right across from Bruno's)?

Main Street Lofts are in the 500 block south of where the Aloft will be.

Okay.  I was referring to the 5 (or so) story building on the east side of Main between 3rd and 4th directly across from Bruno's.  The sign up on the side of the building promoting the project says "K Lofts."

Main Street Lofts and K-Loft groups are separate.  Both groups are headed by Scott Reed but include different partners.  Financial obligations on the K-Loft project were being paid regularly but from I am hearing (cannot confirm so don't quote me), Reed has been behind on payments here as well.  So from what I see and hear, Reed has liens and payment issues on all of his Main Street projects that he is associated with.  It's unfortunate but eventually he'll go bankrupt and the banks will smarten up and direct the properties to someone who has the capabilities of seeing these properties through.

Is there any parking associated with the K-Loft property, or the building only (or do you know)?

Cool, will be nice seeing this and the Boyle (aloft) building lit up and in use. Very historic buildings.

Anything new on the aloft?

LRretail seems to be in the loop on the aLoft...he'd said previously construction was supposed to start around now?  Any update LRretail?

The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism has announced plans to open up a See Arkansas Self-Service Stop in the old Main Street Mall building in the 500 block.

This was the store front of Moses' Melody Shop, for many years the best place in town to buy records.

This project is going before the Planning Commission in April and the plans call for 154 studio, 1 & 2 bedroom units.

Hard to get a good picture but work on Bruno's Little Italy Deli and Soul Fish Cafe. Looks like they are building an outdoor patio for the cafe.

Also, work was scheduled to start today on the Tech Park.

This building around the corner will soon be demolished.

This building was the headquarters of Stephens, Inc. back when Witt Stephens was a powerful figure in Arkansas politics. I wonder why the Tech Park can't use it?

The land will be used for a parking deck.

If a parking deck is needed how about tearing down the awful addition on the back of the Worthen Bank Building. That would accomplish two things, it would get rid of one of Little Rock's ugliest structures and provide space for the deck.

If you are talking about the KATV building the addition will also be demolished for the same parking deck. It will run between Capitol and 4th along Scott.
