Elsewhere in the company, Ellison said Lowe’s will continue to invest in information technology, a sector now headed by former Target executiveSeemantini Godbole. Ellison wouldn’t disclose details but said the investment will include growth at its corporate headquarters.

“We’re going to have some aggressive hiring plans that will impact us in our home location to create some jobs,” Ellison said

The geometry of that parcel would lead to a pretty funky design I would think/hope.

I do think it would have to be a mid-matket brand for that location.

I'd guess Cambria, personally, and around the height of Moxy, because of space constraints.

I hadn't yet seen the BoA Plaza renovations' lighting system at night (at Eddie V's) until last night. It gives a great vibe.

I had also never noticed 525 N Tryon's light system on their facade before (I only ever notice it's cone). It's surprisingly impressive in person. I can't wait until N Tryon is more active.

Night biking is the way to go if you haven't done it.

here is a photo of 400 South Tryon that Duke will vacate and I think they lease about 80% of it or more when they move into their new tower.  Here is an idea I have.  Turn the lower floors into a hotel and keep the office space at top.  I know Hotel Indigo has been looking and while this building is not historical I think it would be a nice hotel at least part of it. Otherwise the owners are going to have to do substantial renovations to market the space.   And since a big block of space at the existing Ally Center on S Church will becoming open as well around the same time that space is so much newer it should be easier to lease.
