As a major landowner in uptown Charlotte this retirement may have an impact here and maybe they will sell more of their properties.  The CEO of NC Railroad is retiring.  You know some of those big surface parking lots along Brevard owned by the NC RR.  also a development site next to the Hilton uptown, next to Charlotte Plaza.

From the Triangle Biz Journal

""The man who has led the North Carolina Railroad Company for nearly two decades is retiring.  Scott Saylor, president and CEO since 2001, has notified the board of his plans to retire this July, NCRR confirms.   Saylor has spent 31 years with the company. He was initially hired in 1989 - NCRR’s first new hire in more than 100 years. The company owns and manages a more than 300-mile rail corridor that stretches from Charlotte to Morehead City.  In an exclusive interview, Saylor calls the decision to retire bittersweet – but says it comes at a good time.""

Without NC RR support the LYNX line would not be in place or it would have been a lot more expensive to do.

Really hope they sell those for development...and that whatever is built on each side adds to the rail trail in that area.

Looks like there's finally an active upfit in the retail space that used to house "the boardroom" restaurant in 128 S Tryon (first citizens). According to the permit sign on the door, it's going to be a Korean BBQ.

Saw that too, toz.  That place is going to kill it!  Glad it's Uptown too.  CLT's korean bbq game was severely behind.  But now we have Let's Meat, Iron Dish (new in university area, which is awesome, but ppl havent talked about it much), this new place - the boardroom, and Gyu-Kaku not korean bbq, but similar concept.  I also like how this new spot is going to be a little bit more swanky.
