Little Rock vs. NWA

Interesting news today. Rankings from the Milliken Institute on Best Performing Cities, a survey of economic vitality and job growth, showed Little Rock at #54, up from #71 last year. NWA fell from #21 to #57 after being a top ten regular for more than a decade. These rankings rate the 200 largest metro areas.

The other interesting statistic is the actual/total GDP:

LR = $25.2B

NWA = $14.1B

This GDP ratio between LR & NWA is higher than the population ratios, which would infer a higher GDP per Capita for LR than NWA. This data is for 2006 and I cannot envision that the trends have improved at all for NWA.
