Rell Announces Plan To Disband DOT

By GARY LIBOW {sodEmoji.{sodEmoji.|}} The Hartford Courant

Gov. Rell today announced she intends to disband the state DOT by 2010, splitting the agency into two separate departments: a Department of Highways, and a Department of Public Transportation, Aviation, and Ports.

Good news I think... depends where the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ go.

I think this is the best news we've heard in a while. It should make a huge difference in the that way we approach management at Bradley and mass transit initiatives.

As long as the non-highway side gets at least reasonable attention, funding, and staffing... it's good. Obviously nobody wants to see a two person, limited budget department that only writes things.

Intrigued to see where this goes from here.
