There must be a building boom going on there as the vast majority of growth seems to have occured over the last 20 years.

Of course like any city, it goes in cycles. There was quite a boom in the 70s and then the late 80s/early 90s. Now Brisbane is seeing it's largest boom ever. An amazing number of skycrapers are currently under construction. Yet even another new tall one @ 70 levels known as Emerald looks set to take off realtively soon too.

This aerial is from about 1 1/2 years ago but shows the winding river really well.
