Hundreds of hotel rooms coming to Wilmington

The Wilmington Metro Area is seeing a boom in hotels being built. Here is the list and location of hotels being built or planned for the near future.

2 Holiday Inn Expresses one at Monkey Junction, one near Waterford in Leland, both under construction.

2 Hampton Inns, one on Eastwood road near the Home Depot (near completion), one near Brunswick Forest in Leland.

Extended stay of some sort on Eastwood Road under construction.

Best Western near West Gate in Leland.

Comfort Suites near Magnolia Greens in Leland.

Fairfield Inn on New Center Drive, Wilmington

Extended Stay at the corner of Shipyard and Carolina Beach Road.

Two large hotels planned near convention center downtown and expansion of a third.

Planned hotel with conference center on College Rd across from the University.

Second hotel planned for Mayfaire complex.

Hotel planned for Autumn Hall development on Eastwood Rd.

Hotel across river PPD in new planned mixed use development where marina is now located, more about that later.

The smallest of these hotels, inns is 100 rooms the largest planned around 350 rooms.

This should add about 1500 to 2000 rooms to the metro area in the next couple of years.
