Speaking of coffee shops closing

I was just at Urban Mill on West Fulton, next to Kinko's, and they are closing for good (March 3rd I believe?). No reasons given, but it sounded like it had something to do with their lease in Plaza Towers. :(

They're telling everyone to go their new store on Michigan St, but really, they're pretty far apart from each other.

yes.

The closing has something to do with the lease and something to do with the business partners.

I'm told that Ferris Coffee and Nut is going to open some sort of a shop in the vacated Urban Mill space.

I'm really disappointed in this closing. I know a lot of downtown workers frequented this one on foot and it's not realistic to walk from downtown to the other location. And I had to take my photos off the wall. Oh well.

I am so bummed that It's A Grind is closing their W. Fulton location. That is one of my favorite places to hang out when I'm in GR. My 86 y.o. dad likes it too, with the comfy chairs, the fireplace and the view. Plus, you can order a decent lunch or dessert. In nice weather, we like to walk along the river. Does the Michigan St. location have a similar ambience, albeit no easy access to the river?

And what could we expect from the Ferris Coffee and Nut Co. ?
