Soil remediation? This was the long time junkyard, if my google street view is correct. I bought a part or two there in the distant past before junkyards upped their game and became restoration suppliers and what else they are now known as.

this is a great renovation of a historical building the old Tompkins Toolworks along S Blvd.  

and a  photo of the East West station looking toward uptown.   and I count 6 people in my 2 photos not including car drivers as this area is was brimming with pedestrians and bicyclists and scooter riders.

CBJ reports that the parcel at Kingston and South blvd (the former C Store and warehouse at 1700 and 1708 South blvd ) which was purchased a couple of years ago by Atlanta's New Realm Brewing is now back on the market.

The article says that the site is now too small for their needs (and they are still interested in Charlotte) but I have a hunch that New Realm's Virginia expansion has not gone as well as planned and they are looking to retrench in Atlanta. In general large locals are having a hard time getting solid footholds outside of their hometowns these days.

If I am visualizing correctly where that apartment complex is going on Old Pineville right by the split, it should fill up fast and be a good connector for that corridor. 

That location on South Blvd. for a brewery I always thought was complicated. South Blvd. kind of sucks for retail, dining, drinking atmosphere.  It has a ton of traffic and going fast, and it’s not enjoyable to walk down it. If there isn’t accessibility to the rail trail what’s the point? A decent number of empty retail spaces including old Carrarabas and Stache house space and the retail spaces in some of the apartment complexes that have been sitting for a bit now.

Flower Child looks good painted white but it was bright yellow before.  They should have kept the  original brick color.

Couple of vacant surface parking lots to watch.   These are both great development sites for midrise to high rise construction.  Keep an EYE out.

521 E Morehead St #400   29,000 sq ft lot.  over half acre.  Would be great office or high rise apartment tower site.    Update  this lot is owned by Greystar THE largest apartment owner in the USA! 

Photo 3 lot at East Blvd at LYNX line behind church.  Browder-Harris Mgmt Co owns this according to tax records 1.26 acre site wraps around the church includes single story restaurant building.

Beacon Properties did this one.    6.  Sycamore is about to get a tall neighbor   7. 8.  Rampart corners at Hawkins and Rampart  9. RAM new apartments at Dunavant and Hawkins 10. 11. Lennar's Bradham apartments.  Lennar multifamily does great work in my opinion.   Photos from yesterday.

Sometimes i like to imagine if the rail line was an actual street- it would be so “urban” and walkable.
