So is there any word on how this will connect to the rail trail once it dumps walkers and cyclists on Stonewall? 

Dumping onto Stonewall isn’t the only option, they went with the east side of the rail bridge because it gave them the opportunity to connect to the Belk Trail which runs from here to Mint St.



That said... you have to exit onto college, where they’ll have a protected bike lane, and then go up MLK and reconnect. It’s mega dumb.

Just saw this, the ped  bridge looks way more interesting than I expected.  It gives an appearance that Downtown and Southend are connected.....finally.

I like the lower version.  It looks more effective at providing shade, and blocks the skyline view less.

Charlotte Beer Garden and the Broadstone QC apartments at Morehead and S Tryon. I call this area USE  Upper South End since there is a LoSo Lower Southend

I went to the Charlotte Auto Show and there were (are, still) THREE McLaren cars. I could touch them.

Power lines almost cleaned up, Tryon still closed as of 4:55pm today

In terms of overhead power lines I am not sure why the city can not tell developers of projects of certain size to bury them. at least on that block.  (and yes a full block project like Railyard or Spectrums should have them buried)   No worries out here in the suburbs they are all buried out here unless on main roads but everything neighborhood and commercial project has them buried. 

I have mentioned this before it is very expensive to bury all lines in a city and Hilton head Island has done it and I have been paying a monthly charge for 16 years now to do this.

It is also expensive to maintain and replace poles and overhead lines when weather, squirrels, drivers, and all the other environmental issues cause things such as this (whatever it was).

The city has no control. This is all on Duke. Beacon wanted to and offered to bury at RailYard. Duke pushed back, fought and won.

Does anyone know what is going on from Freeland to Tryclan on South Tryon? Everything is being demoed other than a few houses. Is this area included in the LOSO development at Scaleybark Station?

That's the Beauxwright deal and  there's another 87 on the Cama/Peterson block (Hopper) and another 79 on the Tryclan/Yorkshire block (Ryan).
