In a nutshell, an army engine plant that shuttered over a decade ago is now being sold off. I honestly see some residential or mixed development, even with the current environmental issues, being this close to L.I. sound and the lot being on the waterfront as is.

Stratford's industrial era is largely over (Sikorsky is a huge exception), now is a good time to capitalize on the growth (and costliness) of the rest of Fairfield County.

Investor Says He Has Financing For Stratford Movie Studio

Christopher is a New Haven media entreprenuer who leads Hollywood East/Area 51, which has been chosen by the federal government as the winning bidder in an auction for the 1.7-million-square-foot Stratford Army Engine Plant. The winning bid was $9.2 million.

There are a lot of investors involved in this studio and they seem connected. This seems like it could happen. I am suprises how far this has gotten since the origonal post.

This could also be a serious feather in the cap of the movie tax break!

lets hope the state starts lowering taxes to develop business opportunities
