Bingo 2nd phase includes parking decks and more office and apartments.   and yes this site when proposed back in the 1980s was an open air mall by Hahn Company of San Diego and it devolved into a big box strip center so this plan is a massive improvement over that.

The new Escent office building by Crescent in University Research Park and the new United Rentals corporate office not the HQ (yet) 

this is one of those tilt up office buildings did not realize that.  These are very popular in warehouses but only a few office buildings here I think there was one at Ayrsley.  But these are done a lot in Texas and out west.

You should be able to see the cranes when they rise at the Centene HQ site as it is just to left of the townhomes across the street.

1. 2. New student apartments going up at NC 49 and Mallard Creek Church Rd. 

3-5  New Marriott hotel at campus by JW Clay station. 

6.  The most transit accessible hospital in the entire region Atrium University.

I remember a former site plan on this lot for a fairly tall building. Don’t know if that’s still planned for this medical building.

You are correct, I believe the proposed development at that time was going to be spearheaded by BankAmerica.

Yes Bank of America bought it for satellite offices then sold it to Lincoln Harris who pitched it as a high rise office tower but now has sold to Novant.

You can see this netting from a long way off.  from sunday.  Top Golf university.

University City area is booming.  5 new apartment complexes have been built or being built near University City LYNX station on mostly vacant land.  TopGolf is racing towards completion netting is all up work continues on the 3 story building.    Plus new apartments at McCullough station now open occupying the site of two single story office buildings (including my own brothers office now demolished)   Apartments being built by Top Golf by the Panorama Holdings group which built the Blu Northline apartments too.

Saw one of the cranes at the Centene campus site but could not give a shot as the streets nearby were closed.  

Did capture Escent office building and the new apartments by the Top Golf university location.

New police station on N Tryon and the new Marriott hotel on campus by the JW Clay LYNX station.  Today.   Name up on the Marriott.

The new Marriott looks like they followed UNCC's design guidelines, then after the ground floor said "the hell with this" and built from their standard playbook.

Seems like it was already noted once, but they definitely value engineered the crap out of the Marriott at UNCC. It’s not even gray brick, which I could’ve lived with. I’m actually pissed. Was this purely a cost saving measure? Or is it possible that Marriott (erroneously) assumed that people might mistake it for an academic building?

This development will be straddling the Cabarrus/Mecklenburg county line.   I noticed last week that there is some land clearing at Ridge Road over I-85/I-485 interchange.

Yes 200 or so of the apartments will be in Cabarrus the rest in Mecklenburg along with all the warehouse development.    Speedway Motorsports has that land for years and years.
