What exactly is "Class Super A" office space? That is a new term for me.

I am assuming it is the same as Class A+ or Class AA... but who knows, I haven't heard of that either, and Google shows nothing

  • Class A+ and Class A. These buildings represent the highest quality buildings in their market. They are generally the best looking buildings with the best construction, and possess high quality building infrastructure. Class A buildings also are well-located, have good access, and are professionally managed. As a result of this, they attract the highest quality tenants, and also command the highest rents.

Also from Ashley Fahey from council meeting tonight this new project Tryon Park by Panorama Holdings.  They have done 2 apartment complexes in University area and the Ballantyne mixed used tower Panorama Tower.

""Heater references a proposed 1 million square feet of build-to-suit office development, Tryon Park, in University City, helmed by Panorama Holdings. Says she hopes it will be anchored by 5-acre public park that will be cornerstone of this development.""

Hard to get a sense of the location; if it is nearly right on N Tryon St, then this could be an unparalleled public space, visible from the Blue Line. If this is too far back from N Tryon, this could easily feel like a glorified office park space exactly like how Ballantyne Corp Park has so much green space but no sense of place. We shall see!

New rezoning for an industrial park at the corner of I-85/485 in Northeast Charlotte:

Sorry, I can't read the details on my phone, but is this the recently-announced I-85/I-485 development that's going to include hundreds of residential units?

Oh wow, that interchange is really going to explode then.  Back in the 90s when I-485 was little more than a dream, I was living in DC and told a friend there I wanted to figure out where the future road and interchanges would be and buy some land near there because that land one day in the future would be gold.  This is the area I mostly had in mind and the future is now.  Unfortunately, I had no money back then to invest.

Trevi Village on N Tryon right before the Speedway is finally under construction.  I saw the permits noted in the Biz Journal.  Here is the mixed used project and the land has been cleared for a couple of years.

Wow! This site has been under some type of bulldozer scrapping since at least 2018!  Glad to see some actual structures coming!

Miscellaneous photos in the university area which is changing due to the LYNX extension.
1.2 Marriott hotel on UNCC campus by the LYNX station
3.4. The most transit accessible hospital in the metro area.
5.6. New CMPD University headquarters
6. new apartments built in place of single story office building.
7.8. Next to Showmars the old Residence Inn is now new apartments for rent.  One of two hotel to apartment conversions I know both in the university area.
Apartments for Rent in Charlotte, NC | The Spoke at McCullough Station - Home (thespokemcs.com)   not quite as cheap as I thought they would be but cheaper than the new ones across the street I am sure.
