Mecklenburg Park & Recreation Master Plan

Seems the leading vote getter here is an aquarium and is the one thing that isn't anywhere closer than 3 hours. Perhaps one of the sights on the northend of downtown could be utilized and that could be the northern anchor and draw more consumers and tourists to that section? Maybe some of the Levine lands could be used and create another namesake for himself?

Since land is so expensive inside of the 277 loop, perhaps this could be just barely outside of downtown but on Tryon so that can spur redevelopment in the north direction and even make it a light rail stop which would continue to increase ridership and and pedestrian traffic further. Or would being outside of the CCCB be too far away to make it a worthwhile attraction?
