Senior center proposed in Avon

An assisted living company is considering buying an 11-acre piece of property on Simsbury Road and building a 76-unit facility there.

Sunrise Senior Living, which runs hundreds of facilities across the country, including one in West Hartford, plans to use only a portion of the property at 117-121 Simsbury Road and sell the rest for development for either one or two office buildings

I would rather our seniors stay in the area than ship them all off to florida. I know I am lucky to still be able to learn from my grandparents as they move into an assisted living community near their home. I am not sure about more suburban offices, but I doubt they would be all that large.
