Ordinance May Ban Hotdog Stands

Take a look at this, although I don't believe an actual ordinance exists that explicitly prevents vendors from operating on a sidewalk. A hotdog cart is not a vehicle, but an accessory to a vehicle.

If there is an actual ordinance, it may have to be modified to motorized vehicles only, which I think we all support.

Regardless, this guy's an idiot for bringing it up. Are you actually going to take a few complaints seriously? Are these complaints even real?

The ordinance is now being revised so that vendors may stay on sidewalks. Vendors have received temporary extensions while this takes place.

I was about to ask if this was some stereotypical Ann Arbor pretension, and then I read the article and the answer is, yes.

The ordinance states that motor vehicles can only park in designated areas, but Kunselman said that state law considers a vehicle anything that has an axle and wheels.
