Right, my guess is that the work that they are doing is to make the building more marketable for potential tennants, etc. (or should I say make it marketable again since no one would lease into a building with an enormous hole in the back) And I would assume that the sagging floors were remedied at the same time as the reconstruction of the back wall.

They've obviously stabalized the sagging floors, and I wouldn't doubt that they might even reconstruct much of the interior.

I also think it is strange that they used a minimum of windows. I know that a lot of old buildings usually have their rear windows bricked up, but this wall has a decent view down Monroe into Greektown.
