Thaddeus Stevens School

The Stevens Elementary School at 1020 21st Street in downtown Washington will close at the end of the spring term. Thus, the building will be considered for re-use under various schemes which do not yet appear to be known to the public. That the building will be used in some way does not appear to be in question. Doubtless, it's reached the end of its useful life as a school, but the building could well serve as an architecturally distinctive anchor for an office or apartment/condo building. This has been done with a number of old public school buildings throughout Washington. I will try to get a few pictures of the building and will post them here. Thoughts or ideas for the site anyone?
