Downtown Grand Prix

Does anyone remember the Grand Prix that took place downtown? What ever happened to this event?

This was such a wonderful event that brought a ton of people downtown all weekend. I remember going and it was awesome.

So why did they stop having this every year? Did they lose sponsors? Did the Grand Prix change locations? Was it too costly for the city?

Would you all want to see this thing come back?
