Big Hair New York City

Recommended Posts

Gee, just 2 years previously I visited N.Y.C. and this thread brings back so many memories.

Walking by Macys and the Empire State Building.

Walking both by and through Central Park.

Standing between the 2 mighty towers of the WTC.

Visiting both of the observation decks of the E.S.B. and the WTC.

Walking along the waterfront and seeing the Brooklyn Bridge from the ESB and walking both ways across it in the middle of (from memory) on wooden planks.

Thanks for the memories monsoon :)

Great shots of a truly different time in the history of the city.

Here are some shots of the Sphere as it is now. Amazing that it survived the impact.

It is currently at a memorial in Battery Park. These are from 2002.

I like your collection of NYC photos! I was around 5 years old then. I visited around 1986 and 1989. It's about time for me to go back. ;) It did bring back some old memories of the 80's. My partner and I were talking about the 80's last week and some of the music, toys, and fashion. I have got to show him this.

I remember going up the statue of libery while it was under renovation. It was a hot summer day, and the elevator was out of service. It made for a relatively unpleasant stair climb.

I know it! I love this thread.... looking back, the 80s were..... well..... strange. :D

I was the ages of 3-13 in the 1980s (I turned 4 in March of 1980 and 13 in March of 1989).... I do have some vivid memories......
