Where the he11 did you get the idea that was a snob term?

Puhson I hud it from wenna sane rays, but she wut no snob. {The person I heard it from went to St. Raphael High School, but she was not snobbish in nature.}

The appellation is entirely homegrown. So, yeah, 60yo drunks.

Similar to what happened in Somerville... it was known as Slummerville, but because it was so expensive to live in Cambridge, and Somerville was RIGHT THERE, new people moved in and Slumemrville became a term of endearment.
