Plans to combine two major Independence hospitals

The Business Journal stated that it'll cost $242,000,000. And will hold 257 beds.

North Kansas City Hospital, a not for profit hospital about two miles north of downtown has been expanding over the last couple years has 480 licensed beds.

St. Lukes Hospital near the plaza has over 650 beds.

Independence Regional Health Center and the Medical Center of Independence are the two hospitals planning to merge.
