The 11th floor is the beginning of the tower. And beginning with the 11th floor about one floor per week will be completed. The tower is actually 60 floors with the last four housing mechanical equipment.

Here's a new rendering:

And here's a construction photo. The 11th floor - the first residential floor - is currently under construction. The highrise under construction behind the Austonion is the Ashton (formerly Altavida.)

Here is another update of the Austonian, they are already on the 14th floor. This thing is going up fast!

If this building were in Hartford I would be all over it.

Seems like its right in the heart of downtown, and the area should get pretty interesting with the other building going up across the street.

The Austonion is officially topping out today. Work is finishing on the 59th floor. The top three floors are for mechanical systems, so it's officially a 56-story building.

The Austonian makes a stark contrast in the distance to the skyline. Driving towards downtown from the south now looks like many of the other big city skylines I've had the pleasure of seeing. This is also a green building, something that is pushed for here in Austin.

Here is one I took last week from the Hyatt across the river. Looks like they should be removing the crane soon.
