2008 Presidential Election

Hi everyone,

Thought this might be a good topic to start discussing given the importance of the 2008 election. With energy issues, global warming, race, etc all being front and center in this campaign, the future of development in America MUST be addressed in this year's election.

Below is a snipet from Barack Obama's website, under urban policy:

STRENGTHEN LIVABILITY OF CITIES

* Build More Livable and Sustainable Communities: Our communities will better serve all of their residents if we are able to leave our cars, to walk, bicycle and access other transportation alternatives. As president, Barack Obama will re-evaluate the transportation funding process to ensure that smart growth considerations are taken into account.

Let's start the dialogue!

Sorry, All presidential topics after the primaries are being limited to the Urban Planet Coffee House. Please post your topic there or join one of the other discussions. We made this decision some time ago as we didn't want political topics spread all over the site.
