My girlfriend Ash and I took these shots while cruising down the General Jackson Showboat a few days ago. We opted for the outer deck cruise. Those inside had no idea what they were missing out on.

I was a passenger on the maiden voyage of the General Jackson back in 1985......at least I THINK it was 1985. In those days there were fairly large homeless encampments along the Cumberland near downtown. Those folks cheered and waved at the Jackson as it floated by them....almost as thrilled as the passengers at the event. Anyone know if those camps remain?
