Hybrid and Electric Car Technology Industry in Charlotte

I was surprised to learn that Hybrid Technologies has their development lab and factory in Mooresville. See here for their products that include a number of electric cars. It would seem to be a natural fit in an area that has as much R&D on automobile technology as we do here in the Charlotte area. We are not known for it, but maybe that will change.

Looks like they have some pretty cool looking products on their website. They may not have great range but this certainly a step in the right direction towards improving electric car technology and increasing green tech sector jobs in the region too.

And while on the topic of fuel efficient cars, I have noticed a large increase in the number of Smart cars rolling around town. I think Charlotte is slowly embracing smarter (no pun intended) technology.
