It doesnt look too bad for prices. You have to understand that most of the 100 buck plus prices are cavier which upon thinking is about right. Lunch price is 35 bucks, Dinner is tops 50 bucks with the NY Strip or fois gras. Not horrible. For me it would have to be a special occasion but for folks that are making the money it could be a weekly thing.

Read this in today's Detroit News:

Dick DeVos and his wife are seeking $2 million in state tax credits to redevelop a downtown Grand Rapids building for their investment group and their son's online business.

The request says $11.5 million would be spent to rehabilitate the 90-year-old building. Plans also include a restaurant on the ground floor.

Spout is in the building with Van Hoeks Shoes on the corner of Monroe Center and Ottawa across from GRAM and Blake's Turkey. The space next to Van Hoeks has been open for a while, so that's probably where they would plan a restaurant. Rumors are that this building is haunted, so maybe the renovations will stir up some exciting activity ;)

Too bad it isn't the Rowe Manor building - that place would definitley be prime for renovation...

...BTW, have you ever been up close and seen all the "faces" on the side of the building for cornices? I would give a pretty penny ot have one of those when/if ithis building is demolished.
