I-96/Ionia St. exit

Just curious as to what's being done here. Don't know if this is old news or not, given that maps.live.com images are about a year or so old, usually.

Anyway, the images is here:

What exactly are they doing? It looks like they're "unfolding" the ramp from Ionia to WB 196, removing the ramp from Ionia to EB 196 entirely, and adding a ramp from Division to EB 196. Anyone know for sure?

They were just rebuilding the bridges. The ramps were not moved.

The photo being referred to is from late 2006. The project has since been completed and the ramp configuration is still the same as it was before construction. Also, contrary to the title of this thread, it should be noted that this is I-196 at Ionia Ave/Ottawa Ave, not I-96.

And also, that "ramp from Division to EB 196" is actually a service drive added to facilitate construction of the medical development on the hill. It's still there.
