Contract Research Organization (CRO) plans big expansion in Allendale

The 34-year-old contract research company at 6410 Lake Michigan Drive specializes in analyzing research studies involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals and animals.

"We have people who are Ph.D statisticians, bachelor and master level programmers and data entry staff."

QST occupies 7,500 square feet in a facility it shares with State Farm Insurance.

It has been based there since 1985, and Quiring said it is time for a move. The company is experiencing growth of 20 percent a year, he said. Joseph Grochowalski, of Grandville-based Omega Design Services Inc., has presented to the Planning Commission plans for two, two-story office buildings on Edgewater Drive north of M-45. They offer a combined 27,000 square feet.

It's too bad they're doing this in Allendale. Isn't there something in a Renaissance Zone available in the downtown area? Monroe North SmartZone or something?

Great news for the budding life sciences industry in West Michigan though.
