New Willie Thompson and Jessie Loomis Schools

I was in the area and able to check out the new Willie Thompson Middle School on Saginaw's west side. It looks excellent. It's very similar to the 1 year old Loomis elementary on the East side, of course Thompson School is way bigger. It's three floors and T-shaped, and located on the corner of Court and Congress. A few other inner city schools have received renovations as well. Definitely nice to have top notch educational facilities.

In sadder news, the old St. Mary's School is being demoed, although parts of the building have been put into to storage. The two story building will make way for a campus like expansion and renovation of the existing church. If it turns out look like what was done at that church in Bay City, I will be extremely happy.
