RustTown 60 Report post Posted June 24, 2008 I was under the impression this would be a new construction, but it's not, just one of many disappointments with this. Anyway, the jobs this will create are both wanted and needed. Liquid Web Plans New Headquarters Delta Twp. will be home to $80M site; could employ 600 Jeremy W. Steele • Lansing State Journal • June 24, 2008 • From Lansing State Journal ... Today, the company will officially announce plans for an $80 million, 90,000-square-foot new data center and headquarters in Delta Township. ... Work already has begun to convert a vacant 70,000-square-foot building, once used by a food processor, into Liquid Web's headquarters. The building, at 2703 Ena Drive in Delta Township, is minutes from the company's existing facilities along Creyts Road. The company isn't expected to seek tax incentives. ... The building was built in 2002. Liquid Web bought it out of foreclosure in May for $2.5 million. The company will add about 20,000 square feet of office space by adding onto the second floor inside the existing structure. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW, that the company isn't seeking tax incentives isn't really a big deal because I'm pretty sure that at least at the local level, townships don't have the authority to offer tax incentives, only incorporated municipalities which is why Alaiedon Township agreed to Lansing's annexation of the land for Jackson National Life.
